New Release: The Beginning and the End of Everything

Indie | Tuesday 9th July 2013 | Abby

Composed vocals with rigid instrumentals have yet again been generated by Josh Pyke with the release of his latest debut album.

Australian singer-songwriter, Josh Pyke, has released his latest debut album The Beginning and the End of Everything. Beginning his musical vocation back when he joined a band when he was only 12 years old playing in front of around 650 parents, teachers, and students for his first performance, and now at age 35, Pyke has released his fourth studio album:

“I can’t quite believe I’ve made four albums, but time flies, as they say, and I feel so excited to have this one out there. I truly feel like this is my best work, and I hope you guys enjoy it too!”

Pyke’s The Beginning and the End of Everything really is his best work yet, with beautiful ballads, gripping harmonies, and striking lyrics that are all complemented by tight and assured instrumentals make this album stand out and really bring something exquisite to the music industry.

Releasing his first studio debut album Memories and Dust in 2007 saw Pyke being acknowledged reaching number four in the Australian ARIA Album chart, being nominated for the J Award by Australia’s non-commercial national radio station, Triple J, and winning a large Australian fan-base. Only one year later, Pyke released his second studio album, Chimney’s Afire, one year later winning the number one position on the ARIA Australian Chart. Preceding The Beginning and the End of Everything was 2011’s Only Sparrows, that was nationally recognised, but the latest album – full of gorgeous tracks – is set to take the lead and impress.

The title track ‘The Beginning and the End of Everything’ is a wonderful track that features Pyke’s talent as he bellows out lovely harmonies and intriguing lyrics. ‘Leeward Side’ is the feel-good track that is upbeat, the one that really gets you shaking your shoulders and your feet cannot help but start tapping! ‘Haunt Your Love’ was recorded in Pyke’s backyard shed, but... oh, it is a track that is slow and captivating, as he sings “so come inside, I think we had it all” you slip into this loving ballad and escape your own reality to listen to the love and emotion that is carried in this song.

A wonderful album that must be shared! Enjoy the track ‘Leeward Side’ here:
