The unsung hero of Electronic music is about to release a solo record

House | Monday 6th March 2017 | Ben

Electronic Music in Britain is growing with British bands like Hot Chip becoming more and more popular Joe Goddard is braving the music minefield to try and reach mainstream listeners.

Joe Goddard has gotten a ton of critical acclaim with his band Hot Chip, he and was nominated for a Grammy for his remix of a Chemical Brothers LP, so it’s safe to say he knows how to make amazing music and now he's releasing a solo album.

Joe Goddard has been a busy man these last few years with the release of The Hot Chip album In Our Heads alongside non-stop touring. His also released an album as part of the dance duo The Two Bears. The man’s been playing shows and making great electronic music for a long time and he has shown no signs of slowing down as his new solo record titled Electric Lines is due for release on the 21st of April.

If the first single is anything to go by it’s going to be incredible. The aptly named Music is the Answer is an insanely catchy dance track that doesn’t try to get you to dance through high tempo drops and dub-step style aggression.

But more of a smooth beat with a catchy hook. This track is optimistic with Joe Goddard  stating "Fear and distrust of outsiders, which are rife in modern Britain, can be lessened through the development of a sense of community, which music really helps to create."

The Video for Music is the Answer was directed by The Shynola Collective who have worked on videos for Queens of the Stone Age and Radiohead, and it’s a typical Hot Chip video in so many ways, and I mean that as the highest of compliments. It’s sexy and slick and doesn’t take you far away from the track itself keeping your attention focused on the music, which is what a great music video should do.

The LP is Ten Tracks long, Lose your Love is shaping up to be a great album to get you through the spring and with a tour to follow it doesn’t look as if Joe wants to start slowing down yet
