A new sound in roots reggae music, St. Croix native Reemah produces soulful sounds and spiritual music that is full of positive messages.
After first displaying her vocals on song Chance to Grow with reggae group Bambú Station, Reemah produced self-financed, two track EP No Questions. A strong and commanding debut.
Check Your Words, released in 2012 became Reemah’s first album, and helped her to be recognised as a potent new voice in reggae. The album ranges from a smooth lovers rock to heavy dub, with some songs produced by Tippy I, a member of premier conscious music collective ‘I Grade Records’.
Having a compelling approach to performing, Reemah has played her relaxed roots rhythms to audiences in Washington DC, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, South America and the world famous Reggae on the River Festival in California.
Modernising roots music, Reemah is similar to reggae songstress Dezarie, also a St Croix native and sings with confidence and strength. Believing that it is her prophecy to make and spread powerful, conscious music, her latest release Crowns Up On Your Head, is an inspiring song that urges people to reclaim their royalty and virtue.
