The focus of the sound from reggae artist Jah9 is on empowering audiences with her powerful and positive music.
Described as 'Jazz on Dub', Jah9's smooth yet social and political songs are uplifting and spiritual, influenced by her life growing up in the Jamaican countryside and Kingston as well as the Rastafarian culture. Her style derives from 70's Jamaican roots music and instrumental dub and is paired with her strong vocals and conscience lyrics.
Her early work caught the attention of legendary reggae musician Beres Hammond and her latest album '9' was released in September 2016 and peaked at number five.
