10 years of the Future | Welcome to the Future 2016
Waiting at Amsterdam Sloterdijk with beer cans overfilling every bin, it's obvious something epic is going down.
That something was the 10th anniversary of Welcome to the Future Festival just outside Amsterdam city and my, it was an anniversary to remember.
As we walk through the sun kissed Dutch countryside the heavy thump of the huge techno stage was heard for miles around. As we drew closer it got louder and clearer, and we knew we'd be in for a treat. We get through the gate and enter this Dutch festival favourite, immediately dropping into the techno stage where Paco Osuna was lay down some serious beats.
As we explored the festival's many great stages and soaked in the evening sun and got to grips with the layout. Each stage was designed very different and made for a new experience at every corner. The line up was brimming with top international house and techno names, and meant whatever you flavour somewhere you could get right down.
DJ Sneak saw off the sun in the only way the house gangster could - jacking hard. Len Faki followed by Chris Liebing sorted the best after dark techno under the wonky squares, and the last half hour of Pan Pot showed us exactly why Welcome to the Future is a firm favourite on the Dutch festival circuit.
