After giving so much, drum & bass want to give a little back.
Diane Charlemague was someone who gave the drum & bass scene everything, so in response to her passing, some of the genre's figure heads are going to give a little back. The singer, song-writer was a leading light in the UK music scene and touched many with her positivity and high spirits. In memory of Diane and her incredible career Goldie, Grooverider, Doc Scott, Fabio, London Elekricity and Bailey have teamed up with Soul In Motion for The Blue Night, that'll be a night of remembrance and pay tribute to one of the UK's greatest voices.
Diane Charlemague enjoyed a long and outstanding career in the music industry, beginning as the voice from the UK rave group the Urban Cookie Collective. The band hit it big in the 80s with tracks The Key, The Secret and Feels Like Heaven that are still being played on daytime radio today. The Urban Cookie Collective threw her voice into the limelight of UK dance scene. As the years went on she kept herself relevant working with many artists, gifting her voice to their productions. Whether she meant to or not, she managed to create a collection of high duty tracks, game changes, the kind of tracks that give you goosebumps.
After her death the tributes and well wishes poured in from a wide range of producers, labels and fans. Her voice and ethos had touched many in her time and she will be sorely missed in the UK music community. She gave so much to the scene whether it was her heart stopping voice, collaborative efforts on ground breaking records or just her positive energy that flowed from her.
After giving so much, the scene want to give some back. A handful of her close friends and figure heads in drum & bass will come together for a night of music celebrating her life and the music that she loved. For just 10 you'll get access to this celebration sound tracked by absolute legends in the game. All the proceeds will be gifted to Diane Charlemague's family, as a massive thank you from the drum & bass community to her.
Taking place next Wednesday (November 25th) the event takes over The Miranda / Ace Hotel in Shoreditch. Running from 8 till 2 there will be no pre-sale or guestlist RSVP's so the only way to guarantee entry is by getting down early. Get down and show your appreciation to drum & bass' finest vocal talent.
