The problem with up and coming rappers especially in this day and age is the similarity between their music. What it takes to make is the demonstration of raw talent echoed through verses and choruses. Syne is a South London rapper whose energy and emotion put him in great stead to go onto big things. His music seems to encapsulate a twenty first century sound with a classic street rap twist. When Syne pens lyrics its evident he is far beyond his years. The lyrics are genuine, well rapped yet at the same time beautiful. What’s interesting is how he highlights social themes in his songs which seem to connect with the modern youth.
What’s similar to this rapper at the moment then? Well in a nutshell not much because Syne is barging in and making his own space in this scene. His songs show he can control a range of drops and beats; difficult, especially in an era where more and more rappers find it hold their own against big beats. ‘Murder through this pen and paper’ in his song Grand Canyon highlights this MC’s ambitions. Listen closely and you will hear a rapper who is ready. With an ever growing army of fans Syne is ready to launch his attack. The young rapper just doesn’t do ‘the crowd’ he does ‘himself’. Confidence oozes through him every time he jumps on the beat. Every time he picks up the mic he’s ready to imprint his mark. It’s not only the lyrics where the rappers inventiveness lies but the impressive well-constructed beats which seem to grab listeners and leave them bemused but wanting more. It’s quite clear that his up and coming EP ‘Syne In’ will catapult this young rapper to the top of his scene. If he keeps on the way he is not only is the sky limit but this prospects for this London rapper will be limitless. Follow him on soundlcoud for updates about the EP
