London-based electronic duo Avec Sans are set to release their forthcoming single ‘Resonate’ on May 20th. Alice Fox and Jack St James, who hail from Manchester and Trinidad respectively, started performing together in 2013, and caught the attention of the fashion world – Dolce & Gabbana named them Band of the Year, they were featured in Vogue and Elle, and they DJed at the Milan launch of Sandro. The pair have also been championed by Noisey, Notion, Pop Justice and The Guardian, who have called them “ones to watch”.
The Avec Sans sound is built around Jack’s experimentation with hacked Launchpad controllers. He uses several controllers in tandem to produce the music and display light shows. ‘Resonate’ is a slice of shimmering synth pop that expands with Alice’s bright vocals.
The duo have recently been touring around Europe and the UK, including a headline slot at Lottarox Summer Festival and a sell-out show at Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen. To coincide with the release of ‘Resonate’, Avec Sans will be playing at The Great Escape and Kendal Calling, with more shows to be announced. With a debut album also in the pipeline, 2015 is going to be a big one for Avec Sans.
