Taking it back to the end of last year, we're tipping our hat to one of the best remixes of 2014 from a true legend.
I love it when a remix tops the original. The best bring a different dimension to the original tune in such a positive way that it's magic. Listening to Bukem's remix of Dusky's 'Yoohoo' does just that. With Dusky's music as a whole you can feel that underlying liquid influence; they even started their 2012 Essential Mix with PFM's 'The Western' from Bukem's label, Good Looking Records.
Dusky themselves said when launching the remix "Bukem's use of atmosphere and ability to bring a musicality to dancefloor dynamics has always been a massive inspiration and it was an honour to have him remix one of our tracks."
With 'Yoohoo', the characteristic Dusky groove fits so well with Bukem's trademark style that listening to the two tunes next to each other you could never guess which came first.
With what seems to be a lack of drum and bass amongst the headliners of this year's festival circuit (so far), it is a pleasure to see such a great remix and much respect to Bukem for creating a tune that will no doubt open up many a new listener to his sounds.
