Global Heritage Dominates

Other | Friday 7th June 2013 | Hanan

The Global Heritage empire began with humble beginnings in 1999, starting in Shepherds bush the “Mecca of forward thinking fashion heads”.

They're known for their insane crepes, and light ethnic influences of Arabic Calligraphy, snapbacks and beanies stapled with the Global brand, alongside paisley arm designed sweaters, varsity leather jackets and quirky custom slogan T’s. It’s incredible how large the brand has spread worldwide, the line that keeps on giving; its growth in popularity has sky rocketed, going from strength to strength upwardly for the past 10 years. Originally named 'Global Sports', Fiaz & Ismail worked to introduce Street Fashion and the, “whole lifestyle to discriminating customers” to provide variety for avid Sneaker heads who accept nothing less than that authentic vibe when it comes to stateside street fashion.

On a visit to New York the two entrepreneurs describde how they found a far wider choice was offered in the way of fashion labels styles & colour ways where in the UK we were being sold the same old staple brands year in and year out. They explain, “Why not bring the same choice of labels styles & products that customers in the US have been enjoying for many years that the UK has never seen. After all, we do share the same aspirations, passions & goals in life”. Some of the largest names that couldn’t resist the contempo allures of the Global Heritage brand include; Chris Brown, Omarion, Sean Wright, Rita Ora, Rio Ferdinand, Fabulous and A$AP Rocky.

Pure creative talent must sear through their genepool as brother of these enterpeneurs is Muhammad, CEO of another clothing line. He helped start up the brand and had previously branched out setting up his own stores up and down the country by the name of 'Westside clothing' . He initiated that varsity jacket craze a few years back. Constantly hosting stars from the states by the likes of Jay Z to Cover Drive, Bow Wow, Ceelo, Wiz Khalifa and Trey Songz, Muhammad is also currently one of Global's main advertisers.

Both brands have suceeded in establishing a contemporary yet individualistic nieche in a predominatly stateside influenced market, that has continually grown to feed off of highstreet fashion stores that lack the same authenticity that both brands were offering years before.
