Event Preview: The Stone Roses at Finsbury Park!
Wednesday 5th June 2013 | Alex
Mancunian titans The Stone Roses are at Finsbury Park, Haringey on Friday June 7th and Saturday June 8th.
And we can expect big things – both ‘Elephant Stone’ and ‘Going Down’ have been unheard live since 1990, and both were uncovered at Paris’ La Cigalle earlier this week during a warm-up gig. A secret, low-capacity performance at Village Underground is the group’s only London live date since reuniting in 2011, and their Heaton Park shows last year were the fastest selling ever. Really -

The group’s self-titled debut was an epoch-maker, having kick-started the dance-rock ‘Madchester’ movement in the late 80s.
Friday’s supporters are Rudimental, The Courteeners and Dizzee Rascal, and on Saturday it’s Miles Kane, Johnny Marr and Public Image Ltd.
Shane Meadows’ biographical ‘Made Of Stone’ opens in cinemas June 5.
