Young Money star, Nicki Minaj, has spoken out about former comrade Gucci Mane’s recent problems, saying he could use some guidance in his life and really needs time to centre himself.
Gucci Mane, whose real name is Radic Davis, has hit the headlines recently after being locked up on March 26 for allegedly assaulting a man with a champagne bottle in an Atlanta nightclub. Not only this! Gucci has fallen out with Waka Flocka Flame from Brick Squad and has allegedly attacked two fans on separate occasions. Its no surprise that Nicki Minaj has expressed concerns for the troubled rapper.
In an interview with Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 on April 20th, Nicki Minaj says that she has stopped talking to the rapper for a while and believes he needs an intervention; “he was lashing out at a lot of people,
Its like I separate Gucci the artist from Gucci the person”. She described, “Gucci the person [as] a sweet, loving carefree, funny, hardworking dude...but in terms of intervention, I think about how talented he is and I kind of wish there was somebody that could step in and say ‘Gucci, you should take some and really just get centred’”
“Sometimes you just need to be alone in a meditating type of place and just kinda block out all the other noise and begin to focus on who you are and what you want out of life.”
Nicki says that she loved being around Gucci and no matter what she will always respect him, “he motivated me a lot…most of my classic mix-tape moments were with him, like he would call my phone 8, 9-o-clock in the morning…like what you doing shawty? You need to get up…let’s get to the studio.”
Despite Nicki’s words of wisdom, its looks as though Gucci just cant stay out of trouble! He was re-arrested yesterday (April 22nd) for probation violation. Hopefully Gucci realises the error in his ways soon and takes Nicki advice in taking some time out. With any luck! this will be the last we hear of Gucci and his altercations with the law.
