New app lets blind people find each other.

If you are one of those people who does not always see the point of apps and mostly views them as unnecessary fancy gadgets. Well, listen to this. More than not, blind people often have friends or even spouses that are blind themselves as well. You might imagine that finding each other under such circumstances is not always the easiest thing to do. You could be standing around the shopping mall waiting for your friend who is doing the exact same thing a few feet away from you. Well, once again, technology is here to help out. There is a new app in the works that focuses on diminishing this problem as much as possible. Using Bluetooth, the app is able to detect people and alerts the user through vibration and noise that the other person is within 50 feet from them. This will allow the person to look for their friend instead of standing around and waiting for someone who is already so close to them. While looking for that other person, the app gives an indication of how close you are by saying’ hot’ or ‘cold’. Of course the app also allows you to send out a message to that person before randomly coming up to them. This is quite a nifty app that is able of dissolving an actual societal problem and making the life of people with a disability a little bit easier.
