London is holding an auction next month and not just any auction, but one that is going to sell at least 10 of Diana’s iconic dresses, which are expected to raise no less than a whopping 600,000 pounds. This might seem like a great amount of money, but let’s not forget that we are talking about one of the most iconic figures in British history, if not in the world. And not only that, the dresses themselves are quite well-known as well. Diana wore most of these gowns on special occasions such as official state visits and dinners at the White House.
Diana requested to put the dresses up for a charity auctioning in New York in June 1997, just two months prior to her death. The dresses were bought by a business woman from Florida called ‘ Maureen Dunkel’, who had to put them up for auctioning after her business went bankrupt. Unfortunately only four of them sold, which was partly faulted towards her reservation prices being too high. This auction, however, is expected to go down differently. All the dresses are most likely to be sold and make no less than 600,000, which is definitely not a small amount of money. What is more important however is that these dresses, find an honourable last resort.
