Kitty Cowell | One to Watch

Thursday 15th November 2012 |
Kitty Cowell is a relatively new kid on the block. However she may well be a name to store in the memory bank for those who revel in being the first to know about new artists. The rap/electro artist has already had praise heaped upon her by several music aficionados:
“A rap/electro live wire” Music Week Magazine
“Ed sheeran, Vanessa Saturday, Rita Ora – alumni of the British Academy of New Music all. And the one to watch from this year’s crop? Step forward Kitty Cowell, who has, apparently, “got swag”. Class dismissed.” The Independent On Sunday
“Your new favourite sassy rapper has arrived! Quality dubby beats punctuate her flow, til the ravey chorus kicks in and we all chant, “Lady Who?” (Sov, not Gaga)” Gill Mills (Radio 1, NME, Best of Myspace)
It all kicked off with Come Roll With Me, the first EP, released in 2011 but what really provoked Kitty Cowell’s current buzz was 13, the mixtape released earlier this year. Listen to the 13 mixtape below:
Last week Kitty dropped a brand new track ‘Head Bang’, produced by D Burnz and it is indeed a head banger - listen below.
Now put a face to the name and check out the first video from 13:
