The grindingly heavy electronic track just got better, with the addition of zombie toddlers.
The song, from the band’s soundtrack to video game Max Payne 3 has gained immense popularity recently, despite not being nearly as hyped as their earlier releases. It’s easy to hear why it has gained ground with the bands trademark sound on top form, mixing soft, plaintive vocals with pulsating, synthesised noise.
The new video by David Altobelli and Jeff Desom takes place in a bleak, urban L.A. awash with greys and browns, and populated by undead infants. It’s surprisingly unsettling stuff and makes a perfect counterpoint to the grim melancholic soundscape on offer.
I just wish I could have been there when they had to persuade the mothers to allow their children to be painted dead and made to eat a bird in a storm drain. You never see that on Pushy and Proud.
