This 19 year old UK-based singer/songwriter, who has been supporting Coldplay on their European tour, has released a new video after delving into postmodernism. The video for the song ‘So Far Away’, made by Ryan Andrews, features psychedelic images, which seem to belong to that time of low resources video recording, giving it a nostalgic look. It also features Disney princesses, probably to make a statement on how little girls get a false impression of what love is and lately get disappointed, even going to the extraordinary length of blaming Disney for their high expectations for meeting their Prince Charming.
But Charlotte Aitchison is not that innocent, musically speaking. She’s been on the business for five years while she’s been in L.A. recording with Ariel Rechtshaid and also her last released song ‘You’re the one’ was recorded in Sweden with Patrik Berger (Lana Del Rey, Robyn). She summarizes her work like this: “For me this is where s**t should be going, it is pop music but it’s a mixture of dark, serious ballads, with an almost gangster style.” And as her musical influences, Björk and Robyn, do, she wants to “be able to make people cry and breakdown, as well as making them feel amazing and beautiful... and luscious.”
After her trip to Australia, where she currently is, she will be touring the UK next November.
