James Franco has just released a new single. Yep you heard correctly, the 'Spiderman', '127 hours' star has begun a band called 'Daddy' that is bringing us back sounds from the 60s in a poetic style, thanks to Franco's own university degree in the subject. His response to those who question his branching out to music is fair, he says, "I know I do a lot of things. I'm very aware of that. I'm sure there are a lot of skeptical people, hearing about me doing music . . . To me, it all comes from a similar place. It's like using different tools to express things in different ways."
And different it is. The new tune below released from their new EP uses spoken word in conjunction with song in a dreamy, melodic fashion that reminds one of a wet, hot American summer. The image you see on this page is the cover of the band's EP featuring disney starlets Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine who, according to Franco, bring an innocence to an otherwise sexually-driven image.
So check out the link below and see what you think of this alternative side of a man who has previously been considered a Hollywood Heartthrob. You are sure to be surprised by the intellectual display through music, words and visuals, all directed by the young star.
