Will.I.Am has been forced to reschedule the release of his debut solo album #willpower after thieves leaked his material online.
The album is thought to have been taken when Will.I.Am’s car was stolen at the album listening party last August. The Black Eyed Peas member was attending the event in Hollywood when his white gullwing coupe, which contained several rough demos, was taken. The car was eventually returned to him, minus the rapper’s new material, which has since been revealed online.
Clearly upset by the release of his work ahead of time, the twitter-mad rapper tweeted yesterday that because of the leaks, “I have to push the album back to make new songs. I will give you updates soon," adding: “when songs are incomplete and your valuables were stolen and people leak your unfinished material... I have a right to vent.”
The Voice judge also urged fans not to promote or share any of the demos and demanded that whoever is responsible for the release of his new music should be stopped.
The album, which was originally to be released at the beginning of October, is expected to include collaborations with big names such as Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Britney Spears to name just a few.
