The King of rock and roll’s Bible sold for a staggering £59,000 at auction.
The American and cultural icon was given the Bible way back in 1957, on his first Christmas back at Graceland aged 22, the Bible itself contained self annotations from Presley. Other items sold included a signed filmed contract for Follow That Dream from 1962 fetching £6000. However, a pair of the Kings underpants, worn under the infamous white jump suit from 1977, failed to reach the asking price and remained unsold.
The best selling solo artist in the history of popular music passed away nearly forty years ago now back in 1977 and the world has mourned his passing ever since. Elvis memorabilia and collectables have taken on a life of their own and it’s good to know that for a small price you can own your very own piece of the King... even if it is his old underwear.
