Jimi Hendrix became, in a short time, in a music icon and a guitar legend. To celebrate the 70th birthday of the artist, Hospital Club’s gallery hosts an exhibition about the Hendrix’s life as a Londoner.

Although Jimi Hendrix was born in America, he lived his last years in London, and his music and style were very important for the English music scene in the end of 60’s.

Coinciding with the 70th birthday of Hendrix, Hospital Club’s gallery hosts a new exhibition about the life of the artist, focusing in the nine months that transformed Hendrix in a megastar. The exhibition includes, among other things, a selection of Jimi’s clothes, photographs, letters, press clippings and the famous guitar that he smashed up on stage of the Saville Theatre.

The exhibition has been curated by the Seattle’s rock and sci-fi museum EMP, a not-for-profit company dedicated to the exploration of creativity and innovation in popular music. Hear My Train A Comin’: Hendrix Hits London will be open to the public until the 31th of August.
