Marina and the Diamonds stands her ground

Marina clearly doesn’t take kindly to certain comparisons. It has been reported today that the singer finds it “really annoying” when she is put side by side next to female artists Lana Del Rey, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. She claims that many liken her to “over 30 artists” and she “can’t wait for a time when she can be classed as herself”. The singer, real name Marina Diamandis has just released album ‘Electra Heart’ and asserts that the album is “a lot more electronic” and has a “dark bubblegum pop” feel to it. She admits that she intends to sound a lot like a “goth Britney” in her new LP. The new album has collaborations with Guy Sigsworth (Bjork/Frou Frou) and Stargate (Rihanna/Chris Brown).
