September 24th will see Mumford & Sons release the follow-up to 2009's Sigh No More.
Sigh No More was a great success for the band; it won a Brit Award, was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize, and shifted 2.2 million copies in the US, a rare feat for a British debut. 'Little Lion Man' took the radio by storm, and the band played a packed-out John Peel tent at Glastonbury in 2010 - and now they return with an eagerly anticipated second LP.
Vocalist Marcus Mumford stated that they may even go back on the record; they told the NME, '... if we listen back while we're mixing and discover it's shit, we'll just start again'. Markus Dravs is back behind the desk as producer, while the band suggest they will be going down the same route of poppy folk anthems, as Marcus stated to MTV, 'I think we just want the songs to be good, and to sound right, and to feel like we've expressed everything as straightforwardly and honestly as we can'.
Their as-yet untitled sophomore effort is obviously not out for a few months yet; luckily, Mumford & Sons have already released brand new track 'Ghosts That We Knew', which you can listen to right here.
