Its been a long time since you’ve had to search for the nearest encyclopedia to get information, look in the phone book to get a telephone number or even visit a shop to buy clothes. Now, you can do all these things at the click of a few buttons on the internet.
The internet was developed in the early 90’s and since its creation, the number of its regular users is still increasing. A mere ten years later in the year 2000, there are 500 millions mobile phone users and 250 million internet users.
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has recently announced new figures. There are currently more than 5.28 billion mobile phone users in the world and around 2 billion internet subscribers.
The evolution is stronger in developing countries where 3.84 billion people have a mobile connected to the internet, which represents an 18% evolution.
Moreover, the ITU believes that by the year 2015, half of the world population will have access to 3G. 3G is already more widely used than the classic internet connection.
