Not So Fun-Lovin': Huey Morgan's Twitter Meltdown

Following BBC 6Music's award at the Sony Radio Academy Awards, presenter and Fun Lovin' Criminals member Huey Morgan’s tweet-rage concerning colleagues at the station, has gone on to dampen the win when he began tweeting that he was snubbed in favour of Chris Evans and Lauren Laverne, who both went home with gold and silver.
His tweets included, ‘They ain’t gonna let some dude from NYC win this shit. Fern, Lauren, Chris. Yeah right, that’s cool? Suckers they come dime a dozen...’, along with, ‘I am the peoples champ, don’t need no award. Ya’ll know how it be.’
It appears that the twittersphere has found yet another loud celebrity voice to start barking out opinions for the (in)convenience of everyone to read. Huey definitely hasn’t been the first to take to Twitter to vent (we can all rely on Kanye West for that), but there seems to be a definite lack of professionalism to Morgan’s entire outburst. If we were to insult our colleagues for the entire world to see, we’d be sacked on the spot. Instead, Morgan is merely being ‘spoken’ to over the matter. A BBC spokesperson has stated this Tuesday, ‘Huey was tweeting from a personal account. He has apologised for his comments and deleted them. However, due to the nature of his comments, he will be spoken to today by Radio 2 / Radio 6 Music management.’
It all seems to be a toys-out-of-the-pram affair, with Huey as the spoilt child. It seems to us that, if we were lucky enough to be presenting a show on what had only two days ago been awarded UK station of the year, we would be a little more appreciative of our position and not overly caring that a fellow presenter had received an award and not us. But hey, it seems that Huey is quitting Twitter anyway – ‘Twitter ain’t for me no more. I can’t say it like it is, so I’m out’ – so we may not have to hear of his moaning for much longer.
