The Swimming Pool Illusion

The Argentinian artist Leandro Erlich, who splits his time between Argentina and Paris, creates strange and uncanny installations, which subvert our expectations about how the world works, to make us see and think about everything differently.
One of his latest works, Swimming Pool, which is a permanent fixture of Long Island City’s Contemporary Art Centre, had us all freaking out when we first saw it. This is the perfect example of how he can make one tiny change to something bland and every day, and suddenly it takes on a whole new life. Genius.
