Emmy the Great gets ready to release a film based on Virtue.

Indie | Tuesday 17th April 2012 | Osh

Emmy the Great is a hard worker. After her critically acclaimed album Virtue was released last year, she’s done everything from release a special edition with early versions of some of the songs to create a comedy act based on the Sweet Valley High twins (with summer Camp’s Elizabeth Sankey) on top of touring all over. Still, this might just be her most ambitious project yet.

Director Chris Boyle will be helming a short film commissioned by her, apparently a horror romantic comedy. Isy Suttie and Shazad Latif, from Peep Show and Spooks respectively, are starring and it will be released next month, alongside two brand new tracks. The run up to this event will be marked by a weekly comic drawn by Paul Shinn, and new remixes of her songs up for download. The first comic and remix (by Banjo Or Freakout) are here.

God of Loneliness, the new single, will be released May 7th.
