London-based singer songwriter Scott McFarnon will be bringing his heart wrenching pop ballads back to his old stomping grounds tomorrow night. And we can’t wait.
It was only recently that the Grammy-nominated artist came to our attention, but man, are we glad he did. His soaring vocals layered over haunting guitar patterns are the stuff of legend. Our favorite track is ‘Red.’ And no, we’re not talking about the cringe worthy R&B version by Daniel Merriweather from years back, but rather the kind of deeply soulful rendition that can only be performed by the person who actually wrote the song. And that’s exactly who McFarnon is. Beyond working with Merriweather, McFarnon has written for the likes of Beyonce, Mark Ronson and John Legend. Though, to be honest, we’d rather he just wrote for himself. He’s honest, he’s raw, and his voice sends chills down our spine. Check him out for yourself at The Union Chapel tomorrow night when he plays alongside Adam Cohen.
Doors at 8. Don’t miss it.
