Christian Blanken’s A/W 12 sportswear collection was an excellent combination of luxe, clean, sharp and modern tailoring. Bringing some severity into his collection, Christian Blanken succeeded in making it easy to wear and deeply desirable.
Reminiscent of the 90’s cuts, the collection hovers between the androgynous and the femininity sides of every woman. The sportswear influences are offset by boxy cuts, skinny trousers, asymmetric and drape dresses. Throughout the collection Christian Blanken plays with opposites thereby, classic fabrics such as cashmere are modernised with sequins, simplicity with complex pieces of draping as well as the sporty palette of colours used such as red, white or grey with vertiginous Terry de Havilland- designed stilettos.
We will emphasise the quality of the materials chosen to build the collection but also the graphics of the clothes and more particularly the white blazer’s sleeves.
The collection is the perfect idea of what an edgy and contemporary luxury is: the kind of clothes that every girl woukd like to have in her wardrobe.
