Hertfordshire’s hottest prospects in the world of indie.
A very promising new band from East Herts, Two:10 have rocketed from the humble beginnings of the open mic night to playing at the 100 Club in London. That would be considered a great achievement for most people, but for this to be accomplished at just 16 years of age suggests there is something a little bit different about the Hertfordshire four-piece.The combination of spiky guitar riffs and on stage energy is a very tight package, and the way in which they haven’t let their recent success go to their heads is also to be commended. The electric energy in which they perform is very rare amongst bands of their diminutive standing and limited experience, and the enthusiasm with which frontman Josh Parrot interacts with the crowd belies his tender age, making for an absorbing and frenzied live show, and they never miss a beat throughout the entire performance. Even the slight lack of original material, which you can put down to their age, doesn’t seem to matter, as they make the few covers that they perform their own. The choice of covers the pick ranges from the frenetic ‘Buzzcocks’- “Orgasm Addict” to ‘Joy Division’s’- “Love will tear us apart”, and these fit into their set effortlessly, which can only be a tribute to their own songs, which hold their own against these covers, which are typically tightly performed, with the same energy and enthusiasm as the rest of the set. The future of this band is looking bright, and at such a tender age, they are destined for big things in the future.
