Amazon £3000 Fail

Other | Wednesday 3rd December 2014 | edhowe

Christmas has come early for student Scott Quinn. A £889 Samsung 3D TV, a £338 Galaxy Tablet and a £130 Draper Leaf Blower were amongst the 46 bundles of items accidently sent to the 22-year-old throughout last week. After honestly contacting the delivery giant about the confusion, the Amazon confirmed that Quinn could keep all of the items, as the shoppers would be getting refunded.

Quinn said that items started snowballing at the beginning of the week including a Sony PSP control and laptop, and as the week progressed the items continued arriving to rack up a value of over £3000.

Amazon is not the first large company to be embarrassed by technical glitches. This event also marks the anniversary of ASDA’s humiliating glitch as hundreds of shoppers were able to buy over £50 worth of goods, such as crates of alcohol for just 1p. Furthermore, in October this year, a Lloyds cash point accidently started scattering notes out of an ATM everytime it was used. Over 60 people managed to take advantage of this flaw before the ATM went out of service.

With Christmas shortly coming around the corner we can only hope for the same fortune.
