Rising star MIMI and her band The Mad Noise Factory bring their unique blend of feel good vibes and electro pop to the big screen with ‘Get Me Back’ the soundtrack to ‘Love, Rosie’, one of the funniest comedies of the year.
Unlike her pop contemporaries, MIMI has developed musically through experience rather than stage school training. From supporting the likes of Imagine Dragons and Biffy Clyro in front of sell out stadium crowds to playing dingy venues at 3am, MIMI has been learning, mastering and honing her craft.
Daughter to one of the most recognizable faces of the 70s, former model Polly Ettes, MIMI had a very creative upbringing being surrounded extremely talented artists and musicians. Being an only child with no TV, MIMI expressed herself through creativity – designing, singing, crafting and playing with everything around her.
MIMI is currently based in UK and Berlin, with the latter being her musical base. Berlin has had a big influence on her music with the striking 80’s disco synths and melancholic indie pop making her a household name there. She is a big fan of the DIY attitude – her artwork, videos, clothing, and of course music are all evolved from her vision. This DIY outlook extended to the production of the ‘Get Me Back’ which she wrote in her bedroom. The soundtrack’s producer, Stephen Street who has worked with MIMI’s favourite musicians, The Cranberries’, loved the authenticity of her sound and how the instruments perfectly complimented her heartfelt vocals.
