Brighton has produced some greast dance music over the past couple of decades, and this looks set to continue with the release of the new EP 'Stuggling' from house three-piece DRDR. Consisting of producers Joe Woods and Chris Campbell and female vocalist Donna Cursons, they meld soulful R&B vocals with UK garage and classic deep house instrumentals to create a sound that's all their own. Some of their key influences include SBTRKT and Jamie XX.
DRDR first gained a large following with their excellent remixes of artists as disparate as Major Lazer, Usher, The xx, and even Justin Timberlake - Their deliciously dark reworking of Cry Me a River has nearly a million YouTube views. They then began focusing on original material, and have so far released 2 EPs via Champion Records and San City High Records. The upcoming EP 'Struggling', their third EP and first release on Glyph Recordings, is a masterclass in fusing genres to create a unique sound.
The EP is a current favourite of ours at Guestlist, and we're especially big fans of the title track. These guys are destined for BIG things.
