Susan Boyle applies for a job at Ladbrokes

It can hardly be shortage of cash that recently made Scottish singer Susan Boyle enquire about an advertised part-time position in her local Ladbrokes.
Susan Boyle, or SuBo as she has come to be known, became famous overnight after her first appearance on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009. The audience was left gob smacked as the 48-year-old, with an air of naivety and somewhat unruly appearance went on to bring down the house with her recital of “I Dreamed a Dream”. The performance became a huge hit on social media with video clips of her being viewed an incredible 100 million times, propelling Boyle to international fame. Despite missing out on winning the talent show, SuBo was already a star and her debut album, I Dreamed a Dream, went on to become the UK’s biggest selling debut album of all times.
Following the initial Britain’s Got Talent tour, Susan Boyle has embarked on wildly popular solo tours, with performances and TV appearances world-wide, 2 Grammy nominations and 19 million albums sold. With an estimated net worth of £22 million, you can’t blame the Ladbrokes store manager for raising a surprised eyebrow as the superstar appeared at the shop.
“Susan came in to the shop and asked about the part-time position. She had previously applied for a job with us before she was famous. There must be something in the Britain’s Got Talent water as [BGT judge] Alesha Dixon worked for Ladbrokes before finding fame!”
The position had been advertised in the window and Boyle made a thorough enquiry about the job. The manager described her appearance at the shop as “a real feel-good factor”.
So why are SuBo looking for a job? Only she will be able to tell us the real reason but perhaps she wants to get out of the house a bit? Her stardom might have her long for a bit of normality in her life. She might be missing the camaraderie that comes with having co-workers. Ladbrokes, having a nationwide network of shops, online betting, as well as an online casino would be in a great position to offer her a stimulating work environment if this is what she is looking for. Whatever her reasons, Ladbrokes will be more than happy to offer her a job should she decide to submit an application.
