New underground clubbing concept hits West London.
The latest addition to West London's club scene is a refreshing alternative to the area's abundance of swanky bars and clubs. Self-titled as bringing ‘something more pleasing to the aesthetics of sound, taste and sight with great production.’ The Qube Project caters to a musical educated audience, located in a basement in Victoria this pop up clubbing experience brings you diverse music every Friday night from warm soul, hot house and top notch techno.
We headed down to the official launch party last month to see what The Qube was all about. The club was intimate with great attention to detail with light and sound. With a buzzing electric atmosphere, the place was packed and the vibrations of the soundsystem were rippling through the air. Central to the dance floor was a large Cube rigged to the ceiling and covered in hundreds of multicoloured LED lights. Upstairs the toilets are hidden behind a wooden staircase which added some surprisingly charming character.
DJs were spinning deep house tracks from a raised podium and the crowd were clearly lapping it up. We were treated to a back to back set from Deelux Audio and James Sison and of course headline act Martin Buttrich. Playing an extended set, this guy certainly got the crowd going dropping some serious beats, the vibes were crazy.
With all the hype surrounding the launch, The Qube by far succeeded our expectations and more. With a mixed crowd, from local West Londoners and the Made in Chelsea cast through to more classic ravers and hipsters it was clear that everyone was having a good time. Creating a party experience on a whole, with great music, production, performers and an extra sassy crowd this is one to definitely check out.
Launching their first series of nights, The Qube offers a forward thinking lineup featuring some of the best names in electronic music. Get ready to party this weekend Friday 14th March with Chicago House legend Derrick Carter and The Menendez Brothers.
The Qube Project runs every Friday. For full event listings and tickets, head to their Facebook page here.
