This week has seen the release of Luke and Charlotte Ritchie’s “Hammerite” and is the first single from this brother and sister duo.
Most of us will recognise Charlotte Ritchie as being one of the stars of Channel 4’s show revolving around the trials and tribulations faced by university students will being being a damn funny show. Fresh Meat is now in its third season and still going strong. However, Luke Ritchie deserves his share of applause too.
Luke’s debut album “The Water’s Edge” took many plaudits upon its release in 2011 and now he looks to combine this with his sister with the music remaining larger of a similar ilk. “Hammerite”, revolving all around the folksy guitar and harmonies of the brother-sister combo, is hugely effective in what it sets out to do.
It’s a solid release and can be downloaded for free here. It comes highly recommended and we look forward to seeing more from this pair as Charlotte showcased her set of lungs in Season two of Fresh Meat and Luke has an equally impressive pair himself.
What have you got to lose by getting something for nothing?
