With first week sales of 61,000, KOL recover from near-meltdown to retake their place as one of the biggest acts in world music.
Since following the release of previous album Come Around Sundown, the stadium rockers have had a tough time of it. The pressures of extensive touring following the release of the album and the mixed critical response culminated in the group cancelling twenty-six U.S dates across 2011 and 2012. Last year the band took an extended hiatus and rumours spread of a split. However, the release of lead single "Supersoaker" in July cemented the band’s return.
Arctic Monkeys’ AM enjoyed two weeks at number one, and slipped down to number four, with two new entries, Drake’s Nothing Was The Same and Jessie J’s Alive getting above them at number two and three respectively.
