Our lovely planet offers some of the most spectacular and downright bizarre places. Here are five visually awesome landscapes in the world that will amaze you.
Giant’s Causeway - Northern Ireland
Located on the North-East coast of Northern Ireland, Giant’s Causeway is the result of an ancient volcanic eruption made up of basalt columns. A great place for a lovely view. Legend has it that the causeway was built by a giant named Finn McCool.
Mount Roriama - Brazil
400 metres up in the air lies the wondrous cliffs of Mount Roraima. It might be a struggle to get up there, this is the place to go for some outer-worldly escapism. It even inspired Sir Arthur Conan Dolyle’s The Lost World, apparently.
The Wave - Arizona
Imagine somebody painting the sea in the desert. Then imagine The Wave in Arizona. Made up in a swirl of sandstone, this is the place to go for some natural mind-sweltering psychedelia.
Hampi Ruins - India
Nestled away in the heart of rural India, this world heritage site offers the ideal location to adventure the prehistoric wonders of Asian architecture. It’s a great place to get lost and explore.
The Great Bule Hole - Belize
Possibly the most bizarre and overwhelming stretch of water in the world, the Great Blue Hole is a 1000 foot wide sinkhole off the coast of Belize, providing a vast backdrop of natural colours.
