Oxjam Brixton Takeover Launch Party

Today marks the Oxjam Brixton Takeover Launch party. Oxjam was founded in 2006, and is a music network across the UK, connected by sharing the goal, of helping combat poverty across the world. Since its opening Oxjam has had 4000 nationwide events, over 50,000 artists have performed and over 1,000,000 people have attended an Oxjam event. This success has meant that in excess of £2,000,000 has been raised for Oxfam's work.
The Oxjam Brixton takeover is a multi-venue event, focussing on talent with strong links to the Brixton area. It will take place on October 19th. More information on the performers and venues for the takeover will be announced in the coming weeks. The Oxjam Takeover started as one ticket for access to all events, and was formed in 2009, and since there has been 129 takeover events, which has raised £525,000 for oxfam. The event takes place all across the UK on one weekend in October.
To celebrate The Oxjam Brixton Takeover, today will be the Launch Party, DJ sets will be performed by many famous artists such as Grammy award winner Elly Jackson aka La Roux, vetrean vocalist Maxi Jazz (singer of influential electronica band Faithless), innovative turntablist/producer Patrick Carpenter (best known as PC from DJ Food) . Also performing DJ sets are up and coming acts Nadia Ksaiba and MYLON D.
The launch party for the event will be held on the terrace of The Lambeth in Brixton. At just £10 a ticket from 4pm-11pm, with a beauitful mixture of international stars and underground cult figures, what better way is there to spend your Sunday ?
