East 52nd Records presents D.T.R.T (Do The Right Thing)

RnB/Hip Hop | Wednesday 14th August 2013 | Mark

In association with Youth Music (www.YouthMusic.org.uk), the UK’s leading charity which uses music to help transform the lives of those with the least opportunity, East52nd Records founder, James Michael Nugent, brings to you D.T.R.T (Do The Right Thing), a new charity campaign which focuses on providing music platforms for young, disadvantaged individuals. D.T.R.T believe that self-expression through lyrics and music is a creative way of establishing confidence whilst turning negative situations into positives; and with the lack of outlets for young people to pursue music, they want to be able to fund these resources to create more opportunities.

D.T.R.T are currently running their first project as a YouTube competition where entrants can download a pop or hip hop track for £1, cover it with their own song lyrics or melodies, and then send the links to East52nd's Facebook or Twitter page using #DTRT. This competition is partnered with JBL Audio, Spreadshirt.com, Mallard Productions, & Verden Studios and is running for 5 weeks after the initial launch. The winner will receive JBL J88 DJ Headphones, JBL Charge Wireless Bluetooth Speakers, a HP Slate7 Tablet and custom clothing from Spreadshirt.com. All of the proceeds will be going straight to Youth Music, so why not 'Like' their Facebook page and/or follow their Twitter account to get involved to make a difference.
