Beady Eye To Drop Out of V Fest?
This week, Beady Eye, the band fronted by Liam Gallagher hinted that they may have to cancel their V Festival set later this month.
On the evening of Thursday August 1st, guitarist Gem Archer was involved in an accident and was subsequently taken to hospital the same evening. He is suffering from a severe head trauma, however, the band has stated that he is in a stable condition and will remain in hospital for the time being.
The band have already cancelled their performances at Lokerse Festival, Belgium which was due to take place this past Monday, and Summer Sonic, Tokyo, which they were set to play this Saturday.
The group's management released a statement earlier this week where they explained the cancelations. They said: "Due to guitarist Gem Archer's injury, the band regret to inform fans that they will be cancelling their upcoming shows in Belgium and Japan until further notice. They are very sorry for any disappointment this will cause but as Gem in an integral part of the band there is no way that they can play without him. An update on Gem's condition will follow."
The news will be disappointing to fans, as the band have been on top form this summer.
V Fest organisers claim that Beady Eye are still confirmed to play the event at both sites later this month. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.
