Chief Keef Missed London Gig To Cost Him

Tuesday 6th August 2013 | Tobi

Chief Keef Fined For No-Show

When Chicago rapper Chief Keef didn’t turn up to one of his concerts in London way back in December last year, he probably had no idea how much this no-show was going to cost him. Now he has been ordered by a judge to pay a Washington, D.C. based concert promotion company $230,000 in damages for his no-show.

The company, Team Major had filed a lawsuit against the rapper claiming that his absence at the gig cost them $75,000, including the advance they paid him. Keef never responded to the lawsuit and after four months of silence, a judge ruled in favour of the company.

The rapper who was featured on Kanye West’s Yeezus and turns 18 next week has become known for his no-shows as well as for his punchlines. He reportedly didn’t show up for an appearance on BET’s 106 & Park and also didn't show up for his own video shoot for the song ‘Hate Being Sober’, leaving 50 Cent and Wiz Khalifa out in the desert.
