Bad Dancer Releases 'Silence EP'

Thursday 25th July 2013 | jack

Following up from his 2011 debut EP ‘Perpendicular’ under Format Records, Bad Dancer has returned to the stage delivering a three track/three remixes EP.

The release is called Silence EP (feel free to think up your own puns) and kicks off with the title track; a stunningly dark, bass loaded techno effort that will undoubtedly be making the rounds in almost every house night for the foreseeable future. Packed with harsh, heavy pads and deep, eerie synths the best way to describe it would be to say that it is exactly what you want to be hearing when you’re in a dark room at 3am, covered in sweat and hugging the stranger next to you.

Rynecologist of Boys Noize Records gives ‘Silence’ a slightly more upbeat, electro vibe with his remix. That is not to say it detracts from the integrity of the record, it just makes it a bit more accessible and family friendly. DC Salas, on the other hand, takes the track in the exact opposite direction, implementing a slower tempo, harsher snares and a droning vocal sample turning the whole thing into a freaky, vampire-rave type situation.

On the B-side the Liege producer gives us ‘Holympus’, a glitchy and repetitive techno suite as well as ‘Rave’ which is something altogether more hardcore. This is a track that will literally violate your mind; Loud, intrusive and sensationally old school, Rave builds up to a climatic barrage of tight, screechy and relentless synths that will leave you holding your ears and questioning reality.
