Boyan Slat inspires us all to make a difference

Other | Monday 30th April 2018 | Grace

Whilst most young people are off experimenting with, well just about anything they can get their hands on, Boyan Slat from Holland was off spending his time trying to find ways to save the world.

Six years ago, he announced at a TEDx Talk that he could find a way to clean up the world's oceans by creating a machine that would clear up a swirling vortex of trillion pieces of rubbish in just ten years. And well, Slat has done just that! He now says that he is almost ready to release his machine and that it should be ready in the summer.

The designed machinery will allow fish and other sea creatures to remain unharmed, whilst simultaneously cleaning up waste. Not only is this great news for the environment, but this brainy Dutchman has proved that people should have more faith in young people because they are, after all, the ones that hold the key to a better world for us all.
