Dusky releases Vanishing Point EP

Having just recently released their Nobody Else EP under Will Saul’s Aus Label, London tech and deep house duo Dusky show no sign of slowing down. It would seem they have taken the EPs positive reception as a queue to bring out more like it rather than take a break.

Their latest release is a double sided, three track EP entitled Vanishing Point and is due out in august. Granted, there are a number of similarities between Vanishing Point and Nobody Else, casein points being deep, echoey vocals, heavy loaded bass lines and a general throwback US house style that Dusky has come to be known and loved for. However it’s only been a month since their last release and the track sounds really good so they can be forgiven for not doing anything radically different.

That said, Vanishing Point sees the duo take a distinctly darker turn than we have heard from them before. The title track demonstrates more of a techno influence with sharp, intrusive high hats, eery synth progressions and a deep male vocal sample that gives the whole thing a 90s Chicago vibe.  Vanishing Point also includes a ‘Deeper Remix’ as well as a techy, staccato B-side called ‘Truth Capital T’.

All in all the EP is infectious, danceable and nods towards a classic style whilst remaining contemporary and idiosyncratic.

The EP has been released under Ben Westbeech’s Naked Naked and marks the first release under the imprint not involving Ben himself.
