US Attorney General Jeff Sessions Doesn't Seem To Know That Hawaii Is Part Of The USA

As if Trump's cabinet couldn't get any worse, Attorney General Jeff Sessions dropped a bombshell when he revealed that he wasn't aware that Hawaii was part of the United States.

Sessions appeared on The Mark Levin Show to discuss how Hawaiian Judge Derrick Watson had issued a restraining order on Trump's travel ban. He referred to Hawaii as "an island in the Pacific", despite the fact that it has been an American state since 1959. It also consists of eight islands, something else Sessions doesn't seem to know.

Seeing as Session's is the top law-enforcement official in the country, the fact that he doesn't seem to be aware that Hawaii, which has a population of over one million people, is part of the United States is worrying, to say the least.

Sessions' comment received overwhelming criticism from both journalists and politicians alike. Hawaiian State Senator Mazie Hirono tweeted the following in response to his remark:

Sessions has also made it clear that he wants to continue the drug war rather than ending it, by legalising, taxing and regulating all drugs.

He's also said some questionable things on race-related issues, so when you combine that with the fact that his geography skills are severely lacking, it becomes clear that this is someone who simply should not hold the position of Attorney General.
