Hear Dyl's breakbeat laden half time cut, # (Dial)

Drum and Bass | Friday 24th February 2017 | Arren

Listen to Dyl's experimental cut, '# (Dial)'.

Taken from his upcoming EP Numbers, Words, Shadows, the Romanian has fixed up four big beats all on a murky industrial tip for Translation Recordings. Returning to the label, Dyl will drop his debut solo EP with them this March. It follows his appearence on the label's second instalment of 'Bassment Beats' last year, and he hasn't let them down!

Fixing up four tracks for the release, Dyl delves into the deep and atmospheric side of drum & bass producing a sinister package of tracks that's been designed to test the boundaries. Taken from the EP is '# (Dial)', a moody half time cut that's played around with breakbeats. Dark bass tones rattle beneath the scatty percussion loops and 808 bleeps for an eerie leftfield beat. Dark soundscapes draw you in, building atmosphere and tensions as Dyl plays with other sounds and samples to add depth - it's a welcome return to the US based label who are forever moving to the future.

The Numbers, Words, Shadows EP is out March 3; you can pre-order from Translation BandCamp site.
