Knock on This Door

Other | Saturday 8th October 2016 | Jessica

Once, everyone could be said to have had a book in them. Nowadays, I like to think everyone has a slogan Tee. Buckinghamshire based friends Josh, Dave and Jonny must agree as they have chosen the Tee Shirt as a their way of ethically promoting creativity and celebrating talent.

Bringing together their backgrounds in advertising, consumer psychology (!!) and business management to turn an idea into something tangible, these long-time friends have made ethical sustainability the foundation of their approach to fashion.

DOOR is open now online - offering more than overnight delivery and something to wear. Their Salvage Tee is salvage not in look, but in material. These tees are made out of Oeko-Tex a half recycled polyester and half organic cotton. Their second range, Pastel,  is made from Fair Wear Foundation certified Bamboo. Familiar territory for ethical clothing perhaps, but DOOR have gone further - ensuring that their printers work with local water management companies to ensure any waste from the process is disposed of in a responsible way.

The intention for these T’s is to offer a medium through which artists - of all kinds - can collaborate to produce fashionable, wearable, ethical art. Dave told me they already have a variety of up and coming, as well as established, photographers, video producers, artists, bands, fashion designers, and journalists keen to get involved - because, you know, everyone has a slogan tee inside.

Do you?
