The Easter weekend is finally finishing. To try and get you through the end of this four day weekend we've rounded up the top drum & bass from last week.
Total Science - Notes Of Blue EP [Metalheadz]
The Oxford badboys are back on Metalheadz with their Notes of Blue. It's their first outing on the label in 6 years, and boy did they return in style! Total Science pay homage to Metalheadz' infamous nights at The Blue Note, with the spooky atmospheric, early 90s jungle/drum & bass style being represented to maximum effect.
Zero T - Too Close To See [Integral]
Of course we should expect smooth clear cut rollers from Integral, but this time Zero T really gives this style a work out. The Irishman's appearance on the label follows a storm of insane music out on places like Dispatch, Fokuz and Quarantine. The music follows in true Zero T style with smooth rollers that are prime for those lazy Sunday afternoons.
State Of Mind & Black Sun Empire - The Violent Five [Blackout]
When these two outfits collide they truly are 5 of the most violent producers out there. New Zealand's State of Mind and Holland's Black Sun Empire once again joined forces for another monster of an EP to rain down on the clubs. Amounting to 6 of the heaviest tech fueled tracks they once again let the scene know they this is a combination not to be inorged!
Dead Man’s Chest - Farseer [Ingredients]
From deep in the Alps producer Eveson came up with a new project, Dead Man's Chest that would bring back the sounds and styles of the early rave days. Last week saw this projects trilogy finish up as the final EP landed. As with previous versions the release wrapped up the early old skool styles together, as delicate riffs and soundscapes sit gently over the bubbly basslines and broken beats penetrate the calm.
Beat Assassins - Space Yardie (feat. SiFu Chan) [Mofo]
Another quirky track from the newly reformed Beat Assassins. The London based producer with the help from SiFu Chan gets another fun loving tune out bringing back a little fun the dancefloor. Keeping us on our toes is the beefy remix from 1000dayswasted.
Chroma - Outline EP [C. I. A.]
Another lesson in the art of fast breaks and heavy bass. This time Chroma's style graces Total Science's C. I. A. imprint. His gloomy basslines slip over nicely his sharp precision drum patterns. Adding a little more flavour to this already impressive release is Break who provides a killer remix of Chroma's "Intermission".
Kenji - Gunz [Liondub Street Series]
This producer brought them their 10th release and now he's back with their 13th. The Latvia badman, Kenji once again shakes things up at the Liondub camp with another release of his heavy, uncompromising style. It's 5 of the freshest jungle infused jump up beats.
The Niceguys - Jungle Strikes Vol. 9 [Jungle Strikes]
The true jungle, drum & bass party starters have again supplied us with another wicked release. This time it's a debut from the Swiss outfit, The Niceguys. They lay down two of the wickedest ragga infused jungle bangers full of positive vibes and great energy. Perfect for the parties then!
Saxxon - High Tide [Soul Trader]
Saxxon is back on Soul Trader, this time in his first solo outing. It comes in the form of a charming liquid EP, High Tide. Crammed with relaxed tones and silky drums, the project has a proper feel good attitude. Those who prefer the bad man rough vibes are still catered for as Gerra & Stone provided a powerful remix of the title track "High Tide".
