Bowl of Vintage For a Pound

Other | Friday 27th November 2015 | Aisha

Surrey brings you its first ever Think Vintage Kilo Sale, where clothes cost only £15 per kilo!

Wait, what?

Given the title, you’re probably thinking that we're talking about fruit and vegetables (we’ve all heard of ‘pound a bowl’ being shouted whether it be at Borough or Brixton Markets). However, this time we’re weighing clothes. Think Vintage Kilo Sale is revolutionising the way we shop; with the fixed price of £15 per kilo.

You’ll be contemplating why you previously spent that much on one crop top. Yes, one. With tickets for this event at just £1, you’re bound to revamp your wardrobe with a kilo or two :).

No doubt that this will be a fairer sale than any you attend today on Black Friday. Plus, with a ticket which guarantees entrance, you won’t have to camp outside hours before or find out the product has gone by the time you check out online.

Where and when?

Although vintage kilo sales have hit London before, Think Vintage Kilo Sale is hitting Surrey for the first time on Sunday the 6th December. Due to the popularity of previous Think Vintage Kilo Sale’s, the venue is now bigger. It is now taking place at Kingsmeadow Function Rooms, The Kingston conference and party venue will be transformed into a utopia for vintage lovers from 11-4pm.

Fashionistas, take note

Here are a few handy hints and tips to make you bag the best vintage item (and how to survive if you’re a vintage virgin).

  • Plan your journey – ensure you don’t waste precious shopping time figuring out where the venue is. It is merely a 10 minute walk from Norbiton Train Station or a 131 bus from Wimbledon Station or Kingston Town Centre.

  • Know what a kilo is – in the simplest way possible, a kilo is roughly 5 t-shirts or 1 jumper and a pair of jeans.

  • Creativity is key – If something isn’t looking great with your body proportions, don’t buy it just because it’s vintage (or £15 a kilo for that matter). However, these clothes are from a different era so their size and shape isn’t going to match what you find on the high street. Be creative and tailor it to your personal style. If a jumper is too big, wear it as a dress. Tucking, hemming and mixing with modern clothes and accessories will completely transform your outfit!
